These Collages were born from a wish to re-use unwanted shredded paper and to re-interpret arts and crafts imagery
using contemporary influences. The paper is sourced from envelopes, magazines, newspapers and general recyclable
paper. To prevent the pieces becoming cluttered and confusing, the occasional strip of plain coloured paper is used
to retain an order and coherency to the scenes depicted.
The shredded paper gives reference to an external world beyond the image depicted, engaging wider issues regarding environmental waste and mass media.
